The Challenge

Tufts University, located on three Massachusetts campuses in Boston, Medford/Somerville, and Grafton, and in Talloires, France, is recognized among the premier research universities in the United States. Tufts enjoys a global reputation for academic excellence and for the preparation of students as leaders in a wide range of professions.

Tufts University was using a combination of Microsoft Office and manual processes for scheduling and managing their campuses. These tools were insufficient for their needs. The university wanted information about space utilization, such as when and how often rooms were being used, as well as visibility into use of resources and services that were being fulfilled.


The Results

After reviewing service providers such as Asure Software and CollegeNET, Tufts selected EMS Software because of the capabilities that it offers. After implementing EMS, the university realized a return on their investment in less than 12 months. The university:

  • Reduced the administrative time spent managing their meetings and rooms
  • Gained visibility into all scheduled meetings and events
EMS allows us to efficiently manage room reservations and resources using a distributed model across our campuses and schools.
