Exchanging data with the EMS API

The EMS Application Programming Interface (API) has been adopted and proven by EMS partners worldwide, including Crestron, Echo360, Visix, and Delta Controls. With the EMS API, you can:

  • Retrieve and manipulate EMS data with read-only API calls.
  • Add and update data directly into EMS with updating calls.
  • Integrate with digital signage, lecture capture, HVAC systems and much more.

Simplify the administration of and between HR and facilities using the EMS Human Resources (HR) Toolkit and Facility Management (FM) Toolkit. These toolkits connect EMS to your Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Facility Management Systems (FMS).

Human Resources Toolkit

The EMS HR Toolkit syncs to your HRIS at your chosen frequency, keeping EMS up to date without having to perform manual maintenance.

The EMS FM Toolkit synchronizes the space inventory between your facility management systems and EMS, ensuring accuracy across all systems.

 

Integrating with Microsoft® Exchange

EMS works with Exchange Web Services (EWS) through the EMS Web service to retrieve information on attendee free / busy status. By connecting EMS to EWS, you can:

  • Invite attendees from both Outlook and the EMS Web App.
  • Keep your Outlook calendar in sync with any EMS reservations.
  • Support the Exchange Integration (formerly Plan-A-Meeting) Web service.

Using integrated authentication (AD/LDAP)

EMS integration with Active Directory (AD) / LDAP lets your organization use your HR data, such as existing user records and accounts, as the sign-in credentials for EMS. As employee information and status change, this integration updates to EMS at a chosen frequency, reading groups and assigning roles based on that information.

If you already have AD / LDAP information populated, you can easily reference that data as Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.

Dial in your video conferencing

EMS eliminates the complexities of scheduling video conferencing through automatic features and integration tools for Cisco TMS and Polycom. With EMS, you can:

  • Select multiple endpoints, such as conference locations.
  • Auto-add equipment within a reservation.
  • Link VC as a resources to specific spaces.
  • Sync all bookings by time zone.
  • Create detailed VC Setup Worksheets for coordinators.
  • Automatically replicate reservations into your VC system.

Student Information Systems integration

EMS pulls course data from Student Information Systems (SIS) in order to facilitate room scheduling for courses. This bi-directional integration allows rooms assigned in EMS to be written back to the SIS. With EMS SIS integration, academic institutions can:

  • Pull course and instructor information from the SIS to create multiple scheduling scenarios.
  • Quickly publish selected scheduling scenarios for students and instructors to view.
  • Allow departments to collaborate online for a paperless planning process.

Digital signage integration
